Brooke A. Miller, DMSc, PA-C
Chair/Founding Program Director
Dr. Brooke Miller is an experienced and dedicated administrator, medical educator, and provider. A former business executive, she is the Chair and Founding Program Director of the Physician Assistant Program.
Dr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg. She has experience in executive administration, PA program leadership, teaching, grant writing and management, and overseeing multi-site health centers. She has also worked in international business and corporate training. Clinically, she spent 17 years as a primary care provider in family medicine and currently practices in an obesity medicine and endocrinology clinic.
Dr. Miller has experience in PA program accreditation and serves as a site visitor and reconsideration panel member for ARC-PA, the national PA program accrediting body. She was also appointed to the Leadership Mission Advancement Commission for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). Her teaching and professional interests include interdisciplinary learning, population health, social determinants of health, and trauma-informed care—shaped by her years in family medicine. She has presented at regional and national conferences and is passionate about whole-person care, training future medical providers, and supporting faculty and program development.
Dr. Miller is a proud mom of two teenage sons and loves watching them grow into amazing young people. She’s happy in the kitchen preparing delicious meals, bringing people together, and exploring new places whenever she gets the chance.
